Todd Whisson

Born in Brisbane in 1963, Todd Whisson is the son of prominent artist Eric Whisson. Having established himself as a framer in 1980, Whisson began painting seriously in 1985. He became fascinated by French impressionism while travelling through Europe. Back in Australia Todd pursued his fascination and developed a passion for the alla prima Plein Air approach. He worked under the guidance of artists, such as, Kasey Sealy, Herman Pekel, and Dale Marsh. Whisson has travelled and painted extensively

Todd Whisson’s recent work has developed markedly, taking an abstract approach which continues to reflect his skill in traditional techniques yet has enabled him to communicate more than a visual representation. This has elevated his passion and vision to another level of skill and perception.
