Australian Plein-Air Artists Group

Flies in the Paint - Gunnedah Part 1

APAG was formed in 1995 by a group of professional and amateur artists whose shared passion to work directly from life stemmed from a long tradition dating back to the Heidelburg school and the great painters such as Streeton, Roberts, McCubbin, Ashton, Heysen and the countless others who have contributed over time.

The group meets several times a year in different locations throughout Australia, camping out for weeks on site, painting directly from nature. Membership to the group is by invitation, with guest artists joining the group at various times, current members being drawn from Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
